Dropped wallet leads cops to robbery suspect

AUGUSTA, Ga--- A Warrenton man has plead guilty in Federal Court for robbing a post office.

41-year old Dennis Ficklin plead guilty Thursday to one count of aggravated assault of a postal worker and robbery of mail, money, and other property of the United States.

A U.S. Attorney charged Ficklin with the September 7, 2007 robbery of a post office in Jewell, Georgia.

At the hearing thursday, evidence showed the Ficklin stole cash and money orders after striking, binding and gagging the postmistress.

Ficklin dropped his wallet during the assault..which is how police identified him.

He could face 25 years in prison. His sentencing date has not been set.
