Everybody at News 12 works hard to give you the news coverage you deserve. (WRDW-TV / Aug. 5, 2011)
NORTH AUGUSTA -- Each staff member within the station works hand-in-hand with each other to provide the CSRA with the most adequate news coverage.
News content is determined during morning and afternoon meetings. Reporters pitch their ideas to producers and then head out to the field for their stories after the meeting is adjourned.
Producers in the newsroom work with the assignment manager and the web producer to ensure that all calls are answered, the scheduling for the newscasts stay in tact, and that everything goes according to plan.
Production assistants and reporters edit their news packages in the edit bay. Working under tight deadlines can be quite stressful, but it is also a rewarding experience after the videos are ready for the air.
One of the most important facilities in the station is the master control room. The operators work around the clock to make sure that all shows are programmed according to their schedules, breaking news is aired as it happens and oversee the graphics, transitions and the look of the newscasts.
The Charles Moody Studio is where the CSRA's favorite anchors, meteorologists, and reporters deliver the news.
News 12 hopes that viewers will stay tuned to the No. 1 news station in the CSRA.
