AIKEN -- Volunteers and local business partnered up to host the fourth annual Aiken Senior Extravaganza.
Senior citizens from the Aiken community gathered by the hundreds at the Odell Weeks Recreational Center to interact with local businesses that offer beneficial services. They were also able to get their flu shots ahead of time and attend seminars that offered health and financial tips.
Local businesses and organizers of the extravaganza say it opens the doors for the senior population to interact with businesses that offer the services they need and receive tips from helpful sessions.
Those who attended though the event informed the senior citizen population about services in the community that are convenient for them.
The Senior Extravaganza has only been around for four years, but the event manages to bring out hundreds of seniors throughout Aiken. Coordinators expect a larger turnout and more businesses to be present during next year's function.
