AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Families and friends from throughout the CSRA gathered at the annual Mayfest event to have a great time and enjoy quality entertainment.
"This year is outstanding. It's smooth, the weather's not too hot and the community definitely supported us," said Chill Ay Chillz, assistant program director and radio personality at Perry Broadcasting.
Gospel artists, R&B signers and rappers of local and nationwide status entertained both the young and old.
"I do it all for fans, so to know that they appreciate it. To know that they accept me and welcome me, I love that," said R&B sensation Elle Varner.
Organizers from Perry Broadcasting say they have already begun planning next year's event.
"We're already planning Mayfest 2K13. It's going to be bigger and better than 2K12!" Chillz said.
By the sound of the fans and size of the crowd, the Mayfest still holds the title of Augusta's Family Tradition.
"The Mayfest is beautiful. It's a good place to come for us people to get together and know each other," said Rick Wideman, who attended the event.
