Voices & Vibes: Lucy Laney Museum hosts Senior Luncheon

AUGUSTA -- The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History held a senior luncheon with guest speakers George Bradley, president of Paine College and Dr. Tina Marshall-Bradley, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs at Paine College.

The two attended the luncheon to speak on the accomplishments and goals of the school which included the college's financial improvements, an increase in student enrollment and Paine's economic impact on the area among other issues. Paine College is also one of the few institutions to avoid furloughs and budget cuts due to their spending methods.

Bradley explained a strategic planning process which included faculty capacity, student engagement, technology infrastructure and fundraising.

Marshall-Bradley announced the renovation of the Health Education Activity Learning Complex for extra research to take place. She also explained the college will promote critical thinking and community involvement to their students in order for them to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Members of the community believe that Paine College's accomplishments and goals will have a great impact on the Augusta area.
