Voices & Vibes: Garden City Rescue Mission gives clothes, holiday meals to homeless

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Garden City Rescue Mission puts the "giving" in Thanksgiving. On Wednesday, they showed that by giving out clothes and hearty holiday meals to the homeless.

The mission has been giving back in this fashion for four years. Meybohm Realtor has been a contributor of the foods provided, and the clothing comes from donations that they accepted throughout the year.

Having been an annual event for four years, volunteers at the mission have witnessed a gradual increase in the number of people who have attended.

Volunteers are very thankful for what their families have and are pleased that they are helping someone who may not have meal on Thanksgiving or clothes for the changing weather.

As for the homeless and others in need, showing thanks for what was given to them barely touches the surface about how the feel during the holidays.
