Voices & Vibes: Augusta State hosts annual career fair

AUGUSTA -- Augusta State University held its annual Career Fair.

The ASU Career Center brought 30 nonprofit organizations to the campus for students to explore possible career choices and have the opportunity to network with potential employers.

Some of the organizations around the community that were present were the Sheppard Community Blood Center, the Relay For Life, the Salvation Army KROC Center and the Boys & Girls Club.

Faculty members believe that the Career Fair helps students to become motivated in getting involved in the community and will increase their chances of employment after graduation.

Representatives of the organizations say that these career fairs help inform students about their presence and service to the community. Nonprofit organizations are also able to recruit volunteers and future employees from these functions.

Students saw the event as a great way to explore different career paths and helped them plan on building a better future for themselves.
