AUGUSTA -- The American Cancer Society is making women look good and feel better.
The Look Good ... Feel Better program teaches beauty tips and techniques to women undergoing treatment to help them battle the physical side effects of cancer treatments.
Certified cosmetologists were trained through a series of seminars and demonstrations on how to properly apply make-up on patients and give them the safest and most sanitary methods of applying cosmetics on their own.
Volunteers believe that this program is important because how people feel about their appearance affects their attitude and the fact that many people lives have been impacted by cancer.
This instructional workshop is part of a national program and is offered at the American Cancer Society office in Augusta, University Hospital, Georgia Health Sciences Cancer Center and a fourth location will be participating by February 2012 at Doctors Hospital.
Those interested in participating with this ongoing workshop and event may call the American Cancer Society of Augusta at (706) 731-9900.
