Voices & Vibes: Aiken Salvation Army gives community early Thanksgiving lunch

AIKEN, S.C. -- Turkey, stuffing, macaroni and all the delicacies of Thanksgiving were the smells of the Aiken Salvation Army Center -- but it wasn’t Thanksgiving.

Every year, the Salvation Army holds a Thanksgiving Lunch to help those in need and to give back to the community during the holiday season.

With an unstable economy, the annual lunch was made possible by the contributions of people and organizations throughout the community.

Volunteers also welcomed more people to the feast and prepared over 200 after the first hour.

With Christmas up ahead, the Salvation Army is planning other festivities to give back and opportunities for those who want to volunteer to get involved.
