AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State kicked off its Violence Awareness week on Monday, and musicians from the university performed songs that brought awareness to domestic violence.
Since this form of violence has affected the lives of many, especially those in college, the performers chose songs that addressed this ongoing topic. Some of the musicians were also affected by domestic violence.
The purpose of this performance was to encourage students in an abusive relationship to seek help and to help others who were going through such unfortunate circumstances.
As the week winds down, organizers for this week's festivities still more events in store to raise awareness.
