AIKEN -- An Aiken entertainment and youth group, Real 12 Entertainment, picked up trash around Hampton Avenue during its first "Clean Up Da Hood Walk."
Along the stretch of the road, members picked up trash that was piling up on the sides of the road.
Members of the organization walked on foot for almost 5 miles picking up bottles, bags and other forms of litter.
The group wanted to show that there are young people in the urban community that want to have a positive impact on those around them.
Real 12 is also planning a food drive for the homeless in the area during the holiday seasons.
Volunteers believe that activities such as these can have a positive impact on their community and will influence younger people to engage in the same thing.
