AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- Our Time To Care Award winner for April has a challenge for all of us: Get moving!

Janice Sims has found a way to stay in shape and help the community at the same time. She might have also found a fountain of youth.

Sims is a bundle of energy who will blow you away. Simply put, she loves Zumba. She loves teaching it and using it to give back to the community. Her group has already raised money for college scholarships, breast cancer awareness, a pet shelter and the Augusta Warrior project just to name a few.

"So, whoever God puts on my heart of who I should be reaching out to we get together and put it together," Sims says with an ever-present smile.

Tiffany Weiser Chrisman nominated Sims for the award.

"We all want to grow up and be like Janice," Chrisman said. "That's who we wanna be when we grow up. She's absolutely fabulous and the most caring person that I know. She's just wonderful."

For Janice Sims, it's just the perfect combination of staying fit, having fun and doing something to help somebody else.

"People love Zumba. They love Zumba. And the way we do it, we make it a fantastic party with a lot of entertainment," she says, her heart still pounding from her most recent workout in the gym at Fort Gordon.

If you're curious about Janice's age, don't be afraid to ask. When you look like she does and you move like she does, you're not shy about it.

"It's not vanity, but I have to say I'm gonna be 60 this year," Sims volunteers. "I say that because it keeps me vital and young and healthy. "Inside and out."

There's something else you should know. know. Sims is always looking for new members.

"You don't have to know how to dance. All I say is all you have to do is wiggle and smile. If you ever get confused, just smile and shake. That's all you have to do."

And she was quick to turn the tables on News 12's Richard Rogers, who was clearly not dressed for a workout.

"So, when are you gonna come take a class?" she wanted to know.

News 12 wants to thank to our Time To Care partners for making this award possible: Academy Sports and Outdoors and Subway.
