United Way School Tools

Historic mill sold to developer for restoration
Clay Boardman of Augusta Capital, LLC tells News 12 he is purchasing Augusta's historic Sibley Mill from Avondale Mills, Inc. Avondale closed the mill last year, citing financial difficulties.

Ryan Clark funeral
Ryan Clark of Martinez was among the first to die during last week's shooting spree at Virginia Tech. His family held his funeral Monday afternoon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, where friends and family said goodbye.

Memorial services held for Ryan Clark
Ryan Clark of Martinez, a Marching Virginian and RA at Virginia Tech, was the second person killed in Seung-Hui Cho's campus shooting spree last week. Sunday night, classmates and an entire community mourned his loss.

Paine College holds Va. Tech memorial service
Paine College opened the doors of its chapel Friday for a memorial service in honor of Ryan Clark and the other Virginia Tech victims. The ceremony was also held to help the students at Paine deal with their own grief.

Martinez Virginia Tech victim funeral arrangements set
Funeral arrangements have been made for Ryan Clark, the young man from Martinez among the first to be killed in the Virginia Tech shootings. His service will be on Monday at noon. Two memorials will be held Saturday.

Because of an increase in critical patients in area hospitals, the Shepeard Community Blood Center says its supply is nearly wiped out. Today, Columbia County Emergency Management held a blood drive to help out with the shortage. -

A Waynesboro school cafeteria worker has a million more reasons to smile tonight. Daisy May Atwell is a million dollar winner in the Georgia Lottery. She won playing a $300 million Gold Rush scratch off ticket. -
