Harlem gets ready for Oliver Hardy Festival to pay off
It's almost October and that means one thing, it's time for the 21st annual Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem.

HARLEM, Ga.---It's almost October and that means one thing, it's time for the 21st annual Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem.

"Alright Stanley, there you go again another fine mess you've gotten us into," says Dale Walter Sr., as he impersonates Oliver Hardy.

The look-a-likes are already getting into character as the city gets ready for . Come this Saturday the streets of Harlem will be full of people from all over the country, all coming to celebrate the birthplace of Oliver Hardy.

Organizers estimate around 35,000 people will be in Harlem this weekend and the best part is they expect they'll spend a couple million dollars while in town.

"Oh my god, we are so excited, we've started Oliver Hardy Festival week here in Harlem, Georgia. We'll be closing the streets, we'll have thirty vendors, two stages of entertainment, look-alike contests," says Linda Caldwell, with the Laurel and Hardy Museum.

"Welcome to the city of Harlem," says Dale Walter Sr. and Dennis Moriarty, Oliver Hardy and Stanley Laurel impersonators from Ohio .

"This is great for this economy and what's going on in the town," says Caldwell.

It's an all day event starting at 9:00 am Saturday and it's free to get into.
