AIKEN, S.C. -- Shoppers out at Aiken mall had more to shop for than usual Friday and Saturday as local nonprofit agencies were set up throughout the mall.
The agencies were trying to raise more cash for their cause and raise awareness for what their organizations mission.
Many of the organizations had booths with information and pamphlets to hand out, while others sold food, baked goods, bracelets and clothes.
One organization told News 12 this type of event is important for them because the demand for their services to people are more in demand while the organizations are receiving less donations.
Kennedy Middle School was also using the opportunity to sell baked goods and popcorn in order to raise money to buy copy paper for their teachers who are working on a tight budget due to school budget cuts.
