News 12 at six o'clock, November 24, 2008

AUGUSTA, Ga.---In these tough economic times, soup kitchens are expecting a lot more people to come out for a free Thanksgiving dinner. News 12 is On Your Side with where you can find a free meal near you.

There is a Thanksgiving dinner in the Alley from 11 to 2 pm in downtown Aiken.

Word of Faith Christian Fellowship Church will have a banquet-style dinner and clothes giveaway. That's on 2517 Milledgeville Road starting at 11 am.

The Greater Aiken VFW Post 10601 has a special place set aside for veterans of any war or branch of service starting at 4 PM. Immediate family members are welcome.

Back in Augusta, Bible Deliverance Temple has a meal planned from 11 to 1 pm at 1857 Fenwick Street. The pastor says they are planning for as many as 300 people.

JUST WANTED TO SAY WE REALLY ENJOYED THE EVENT AND MEAL ON THANKSGIVING DAY, THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND THE LOVE WAS THERE. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST EVENTS I HAVE EVER ATTENDED, THE COMMUNITY REALLY REACHED OUT AND OH WHAT A BLESSING, ALSO HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF THE 5:00 FOOTAGE? THANKS AGAIN.
