Paddlefest 2008 - August 30, 2008

Paddlefest 2008 will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, on the Savannah River. The event will feature a canoe and kayak race and a homemade raft competition.

The canoe and kayak race will launch from the Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road, Augusta. Check-in for the race begins at 7 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m.

The homemade raft competition will launch from the North Augusta Boat Ramp, Hammond's Ferry Road. Check-in for the raft race begins at 8 a.m. and the race starts at 9:30 a.m.

Deadline for advance registration is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27. Advance registration is $35. Registration after Aug. 27 is $45.
Races end at the Boat House, 101 River Front Drive, Augusta. An after-party will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring a raffle and concert.
