MARTINEZ, Ga--
Jensen's Wymberly is a nice, quiet neighborhood with a beautiful pond and golf course. But on July 4th, the annual golf cart parade is takes over.
"We make as much noise as we can so the people who can't leave to come out can come to the windows or the front door. We have a good time, " said James Colligen, former Wymberly president.
With their carts decorated to fit their taste--they take off every year at ten in the morning.
"We've done it for three years and each year we decorate a little bit different. My husband had surgery so this year we were more patriotic," said Mary Elliott.
And while most stuck with the patriotic theme--others opted to show off their personalities.
"My cart represents every facet of life here. Fishing, golf a little beer drinking and fireworks--when the wife gets mad, " said E.J. Weber.
Even though the parade was all in good fun--security made sure everything was done in order. Armed with the right artillery-- an unloaded BB gun security guard Margaret Freeman does what she can to keep such a spunky crowd in line on the 4th.
"Well I got one under surveillance they wanted to act up but it was nothing too serious. Its hard enough on the fourth but its 24/7 because these people act up every once in a while," said Margaret.
Everyone was mostly well behaved for the parade and by the end were planning festivities to follow.
"We're having a pool party and when we're tired of the outside we're going to go inside for some cards, no money, just fun," said Christa Dineen
Good fun that they'll have until next year.
The winners were: Vean and Kay Smith- Most Patriotic; Kathryn McKie- Most Original; E.J. "Bud Weber- Most Humorous.
