2008 Women of Excellence
An Olympic gold medal gymnast was in Augusta today to honor some very special women in the community.

An Olympic gold medal gymnast was in Augusta today to honor some very special women in the community.

Each year, the Girl Scouts recognize a number of women in the community for being leaders and role models.
This year they honored eight women and six young Women of Excellence.

The 2008 Women of Excellence are Dorothy Fletcher Eckmann for the arts, Donna L. Lovelace for business, Judy Jefferson Lamback for community service, Dr. Sandy Reinke, and Dr. Deidre Mercer Martin for education, Stephanie Quattlebaum for government, Dr. Jill A. Miller for health, and Carolyn Moore for professions.

The 2008 Young Women of Excellence are Raven Brooks for community service, Reatna Taylor as a high school scholar, Ivana Hughes for leadership, Victoria Mae Leonard as a middle school scholar, and Milinda Brown as a student athlete. Catherine Smith is the winner of the Callie Meadows Memorial Award.
