Doobie Brothers heading to Augusta
The Doobie Brothers will be the headliner act for the first James Brown "Payback" concert in Augusta. It's set for May 3 at Augusta Common.

AUGUSTA, Ga.---The Doobie Brothers will be the headliner act for the first James Brown "Payback" concert in Augusta. It's set for May 3 at Augusta Common. The Augusta Museum of History created the event to honor the life and career of James Brown.
The Doobie Brothers started in California in the 1970s. They're known for such hits "Black Water" and "Listen to the Music."
Among the other groups booked for the concert are the Suwanee Quintet, Greg Hester & Modern Skirts, Branford Marsalis and the Soul Generals.
Tickets for the concert go on sale March 15th at the Augusta Museum, 560 Reynolds St. They are $35 in advance and $45 the gates. They are also available at local Wife Saver Restaurants.
