We begin with Fat Man’s and what’s coming next….
The institution closed…now the buzz is… a former employee is opening up
Something new.

Michelle Hattman had been at Fat Man’s Forest for years and years known as the Guru around Halloween time and other times…
She recently did the costumes for the Cabaret show at Fort Gordon.
She’s known as someone around town as being able to make costumes fit…whether she needs to add or subratct material…
Costumes by Michele, sprouted from Fat Man’s opening soon on the 1100 block of Broad Street.

The First Take Film Festival is getting ready for a big Masters tournament….holding the festival for the first time ever…. And holding it here at the Imperial Theatre…
The festival will be broken into three primary sections; film (shorts & Features), music, and visual arts. Artists have the opportunity to submit work to each of those categories. The festival can simply tap into the wealth of industry leaders already located in the area.
There will be a party every night along with vendors and artists and there will be a closing ceremony over the weekend of the final round of the Masters.

The festival will run the concurrently with the Masters and as a result, all events will only begin in the evening after the day’s golf tournament has drawn to a close. Every day will begin with a trade show from the hours of 4 – 7pm. During this time, various vendors can show off their wares and if so requested, can also hold time on the main stage to so a demonstration.
Each night will consist of a gallery reception where the visual artist will showcase his/or her work. After the reception all attendees will proceed to the viewing where they will view a short followed by a feature. Finally, the night will conclude with a party where the musical artist will then have the opportunity to perform. The festival will culminate with a closing / awards ceremony on the final night.
All events will be held in the Historic Imperial Theatre lobby for two hours prior to the screening.

There’s a young professionals club in the CSRA gaining members by the day…up to near 100… part of a growing trend of young people climbing the corporate ladder or even owning businesses…
Such is the case with a twenty something entrepreneur in the vacuum business.
