Editor's Note: Garret Siler is a former ARC and Augusta State basketball player. He earned All-American honors in his senior year at ASU, helping lead the team to its second straight Final Four appearance. This summer, Siler is participating in the NBA Summer League with the Minnesota Timberwolves, hoping that a strong performance could land him a contract with a team for the 2009-2010 season. Siler has agreed to update us from Las Vegas on how it's been so far.
Well, it's been a great few days being out here in Vegas. It has been really exciting with all the lights and big signs. It's definitely something different than Augusta! I've played my first two games so far out here. The first against the Houston Rockets and the second against the NBA D-League Select. Both games were played well but we lost both. But with guys like Jonny Flynn, Gerald Henderson, Wayne Ellington. Paul Harris and Corey Brewer, you act just like a Tennessee version of AJ.
I'm sure that the next game against Washington on Friday will be a win for sure. But I just had dinner with my agent and some of his other clients from this year's draft like Sam Young, Stephen Curry and Brandon Costner and then, we went to the casino and had lots of fun at the roulette and blackjack tables. But I've got practice in a few hours so I gotta go. Thanks for this chance to tell about my travels of Vegas.
