Three weeks are now in the books and this is getting to be a crazy season with the top teams seeming to be far superior then the rest.
Best win of the week:Hephzibah knocking off Greenbrier. The Wolfpack had the lead late but led by Terry Robinson, the Rebels rallied late. John Bowen has done a great job with that program and after being hit hard by graduation I wasn't sold on the team. Now I am. That's a big win to beat the Pack on homecoming and spoil the party.
Top team without a doubt in the area has to be North Augusta. They simply dominated Lakeside in every category there is. Even with back up quarterback Tyrell Hillary subbing for an injured Loranzo Hammonds the Jackets took care of business in convincing fashion. Hillary is a relative of the crew that played up at Strom Thurmond and is obviously the QB of the futre for North Augusta. Depending on Hammond's health, he could be the QB of the present as well.
Nice win by Edmund Burke this week. They go to Louisville and take care of Thomas Jefferson. The Jaguars are down with not a lot of seniors and the Spartans are a rising program. Buddy Sorrow has those kids believing they can win and should win a bunch more before the end of the season.
Props award to Fox Creek. The Predators now have three wins this year. That is as many as they've had as a program combined!
In the same breath, Aquinas keeps the truck rolling. Not only are they winning, but they're winning big. These might have been close games a year ago and they may have lost a few. Not any more. Matt LeZotte and Butler's Ashley Harden have to be early candidates for coach of the year honors.
