Okay - this is the weekend everyone gets what they need for their Thanksgiving day meal. With the economy being what it is, saving any money is a good thing. So how do you prepare for the shopping trip?
Well, begin with your menu. Make a list of everything you will use to make the entire meal. Then, check your cupboards for items you already have. If you're making pumpking pie - check the date on that evaporated milk (it can go bad, believe me!).
Once you've narrowed that list down, start checking your sales circulars. Who is having the best sale? If you're household is like mine, there are just some things that we do not buy storebrand - like the pumpkin pie filling. Some things you can and it saves money like cream of mushroom soup for your casserole.
When you've finalized your list, now start checking for coupons. Check the big sites first like www.coupons.com, www.coolsavings.com, www.redplum.com, www.pillsbury.com, or www.bettycrocker.com. Lots of coupons on all of those. If it's for something specific, do a google search. For example, "Libby's pumpkin pie coupon" or "french's french fried onions coupon". By the way, go to www.frenchs.com and click on Coupons in the upper right. There's a coupon for $.50 off.
When in doubt - search for it! Any of your search engines can help you find that coupon! But, here are some links you may like:
