Checking the various web sites, there are some good coupons out there to start the year. But let’s make a promise to take full advantage of coupons.
First, don’t just print the coupons you want to use today. Coupons disappear from sites so what’s there today may be gone tomorrow. If it’s a product you use, print it. You’ll want to have it on hand when the item goes on sale!
Also, print as many of a coupon as the site will allow. Most sites set a limit of two prints. It’s always good to have two in the event the item is on a BOGO sale.
While several sites are similar, by using them all you can print a large number of a favorite coupon. For example, Green Giant vegetables are on so many of the sites –
www.coupons.com,
www.bettycrocker.com,
www.pillsbury.com, and
www.coolsavings.com to name a few. By printing from each site, you can accumulate more of a coupon saving you money in the long run. Recently there was a 10 for $10 on Green Giant vegetables and I had five coupons for $.50 off 2. Double those five and I got 10 packages of Green Giant veggies for $5.00.
Another thing I discovered while printing, you never know what the expiration date will be! I printed the New York Brand Texas Toast coupon last month and the expiration date is 12/31/2010 – so it’s good for a year!
Another good coupon site is
www.redplum.com. These are some of the same coupons that come in the Sunday paper so you double up on coupons that way.
And last, but not least, if it’s a good product but you personally don’t use it, print it anyway! Then set up a coupon swap at work, with friends, with family! Just because you don’t use it, doesn’t mean someone else won’t!
