Denny's on Washington Road (3026 Washington Road) in Augusta is offering all active, non-active and retired military personnel a free Original Grand Slam on Veterans Day.  The offer is good from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2009. 

 

“We are honoring service; those who have made sacrifices in order to preserve the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Chris Nichols, director of field marketing, Denny’s. “Our veterans have served us with distinction so Denny’s is serving up a big thank you along with a free Original Grand Slam®.”

 
According to another release we received, Golden Corral is holding their 9th annual Military Appreciation Dinner. 
 
On Monday, November 16, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., any person who has ever served in the U.S. Military is eligible for a free dinner. This is Golden Corral’s way of saying thank you. They are inviting veterans, retired, currently serving, National Guard or Reserves.
 
So far, they have provided 2.2 million free meals.  They have also contributed over $3.3 million to the Disabled American Veterans organization.

Applebee's is also offering a free dinner for Veterans and Active Duty on November 11.  Simply show proof of military service.  Details on their program are at www.applebees.com/vetsday.com.

As a special thanks to Veterans, Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage to all Veterans and active-duty military.  You must show proof of military service.  Make sure you check with your local restaurant to see if they are participating!

The Krispy Kreme chain is offering a free doughnut to veterans and active duty military on Wednesday.
