Applebee’s is having a contest and your entry will automatically enter you into a weekly sweepstakes drawing for a $50 Applebee’s Gift Card. You have to fill out a form on their web site (http://www.applebees.com/realheroes/default.aspx) telling them about your Hero.

Your “Hero” will then be eligible for the National Hero Award contest for Applebee’s.   They’ll be eligible for more than $5,000 in cash and prizes. And they’d also know how much you admire them!

My mother, A retired school teacher and loving wife for 57 years before my Daddy passed away.My mother was devoted to children, not just her own. She taught high school kids and it kept her young and in touch. When I was a senior in high schoolmy younger brother died wth Leukimia. Although her heart was broken, she immediately returned to the classroom. My brother had been sick for eleven years, but there was not very many days that she was absent because her kids in the classroom needed her too. My Mother will turn eighty this August, she is still sharp as a tack and cannot believe that teachers make the money that they make now. She actually would probably taught simply for the love and pleasure of seeing young people benfit from her teaching. I have shared my mother with hundreds of kids and am so proud when people tell me that 'Mrs, Brassell" was my favorite teacher. Thank you Mother for sharing your love and faith in human beings with me and all of the kids you taught.
