One thing I do is start early. Not just on gifts, but on groceries, cleaning supplies, etc. Yes, I'm one of those people who start holiday shopping in August. But, it pays off. If I buy one gift each pay, it doesn't hit nearly as hard as trying to do it all in December. Spread the spending over a longer period of time.
This also gives me the chance to find the extra special gifts. While traveling, visiting friends in another part of town, or a trip to the mall - I keep my eyes open for the gift for those difficult people.
I do the same with groceries. Plan your meal now and make a list of what you'll need. Then watch for items on sale. I don't mean you have to buy your turkey now - they go on sale the week before Thanksgiving - but those other items like green beans, mushroom soup (for green bean casserole), stuffing cubes, flour, butter, sugar - they don't perish so you don't have to worry about space in the freezer! Watch for coupons that match your meal and start carrying them with you all the time.
Now, for those of you who are loyal readers, I'm creating a list of manufacturers' web sites. Most have coupon sites and they change regularly. If you would like a copy of the list, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll send you my list. I'll keep your email address in a special address book and send you an updated list as it grows!
Also, if you have something you're looking for, a shopping problem you would like me to research, or a suggestion for a post - just shoot me an email!
See you soon!
