AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Richmond County deputies have arrested one man and are searching for a second after a BP-Kangaroo gas station in Augusta was robbed early Friday morning.
It happened at the store on Deans Bridge Road at the intersection with Wheeless Road, shortly after midnight.
Investigators tell News 12 two men came in the store, masked and armed with guns. One stood by the door threatening those inside, while the other went behind the counter and got the money.
Mario Green was arrested on Friday and investigators said they were still looking for Madison Lewis. Investigators say he is known to spend time around Olmsted Homes.
Both will be charged with armed robbery and possession of a gun during a crime.
A woman who was in the store said she had a gun pointed toward her.
"When the two gentlemen got a little bit closer to the door the bigger man opened the door and let the little gentleman ran in. And when he ran in, he went at the cashier with a gun and demanded money and the bigger one was at the door where I was standing and holding the '25 on me," Tammi Dekle said. "When I saw all this, it was like I didn't have no more feelings in my body, it was like everything left me."
Deputies said both men ran from the scene, and a witness actually followed them and saw the pair get into their getaway car at a nearby chiropractic office.
Investigators found that 80's model Chevy Blazer abandoned in Cherry Tree Crossing around 3 o'clock this morning.
