AUGUSTA, Ga. -- It's a not-so-merry Christmas for some of Best Buy's online customers. The electronic store giant says some of its online customers will not be getting the gifts they ordered in time for the holiday.

Best Buy says it had no choice but to cancel some of its online orders just days before the holiday. A company spokesperson says the problem was caused by an overwhelming response to certain holiday offers on their website.

Best Buy's online sales soared to 15 percent this year, which may have caused the problem. The company won't say which online item orders they had to cancel.

Best Buy sent News 12 this statement:
"...the challenges related to this situation are being addressed ... we're very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused."

Best Buy is providing e-gift cards to their customers affected.

The company won't say exactly how many of their online customers are affected, but they expect that it is less than one percent.

So far, Best Buy's online sales have reached $32 billion.
